State Transition Diagram
This state diagram shows our strategy for the competition. Although it is quite simple, this strategy was quite effective due to the speed and reliability of our robot. Hot Wheels was consistently able to dispense 4 balls, and depending on our opponent, make a bid for the startup garage.
Given more time (and motivation), we would have liked to implement backwards line sensing, so that we could return to the incubator to be reloaded and thus continue competing if our initial drive to move through the gate was thwarted. The other main focus of our refinement efforts would be to increase speed, because our ability to get through the gate is contingent on pure speed!
